Polesden Lacey playschool is a registered charity and as such requires a voluntary parent run committee. We are in charge of the general running of the Playschool and fundraising which provides essential funds to buy extras for the children. Without the committee, the Playschool cannot exist and therefore the commitment given by parents is very important. The committee however is not just about meetings and fundraising. It is a great way to get to know other parents and their children.

Every year some members of the committee leave as their children progress onto school and so we are always keen to have new members join. New skills and contacts are always welcome as we have to rely on the goodwill when dealing with some areas of the committee work, so even if you aren't able to join us on a regular basis, every little counts!

The committe is not all heavy going and we have plenty of laughs along the way. We meet about once a month to discuss any relevant issues and organise forthcoming events such as the Sponsored Walk and Fun Day. We also try to go out with the staff for a meal at least twice a year.

Fundraising is not everyone's "cup of tea" but there are other behind the scene jobs that need doing too (how good are you at making playdough?). 

The staff ensure our children receive a wonderful preschool education, but without a committee it cannot happen. Please help us to help your children - it is them who will benefit from your assistance.
